The concept

Who never changed their mood listening to a song? Became sad, happy, angry, scared. Art, especially music, has this ability. The listener is able to relive the universe created by the composer, living in its atmosphere. Many people say this phenomenon is called “feel the music”. In this more philosophical context, we can say that art marks our soul, changing our way of seeing the world. If art marks our skin, art also leaves scars, that will be there forever. Thus, the concept of “sound scars” arose; in which we can give two interpretations: that people after hearing it will no longer be the same, and also in the form of demonstrating to the world the musical scars of the composer and also, why not, of the musicians who participate. In this way, the SoundScars project by guitarist Rubem Barreto, mixing elements of Brazilian popular music and classical music with the best of classic heavy metal: heavy guitars, striking riffs and well-crafted melodic lines.
